If your friend was diagnosed with cancer, would you know how to be present for them?

We are the b-present Foundation—a nonprofit inspired by and established in memory of 20-year-old Kirsten Westerman, who lost her battle with leukemia in 2016. We improve the quality of life and health outcomes of young adults with cancer through programs that promote and strengthen connections between young adults and their communities of support

Through two key programs, b-aware and b-there, we amplify the importance of presence before a diagnosis and provide the tools and resources after a diagnosis so young adults feel ready and empowered to be present when their friends need them most. Why? Because every young adult with cancer should feel connected and supported throughout treatment and beyond
